About
Welcome to Perkins American Food Co., where hearty meals meet warm hospitality. Nestled in the heart of Maplewood, Minnesota, Perkins has cultivated a reputation for offering delicious, comforting food with a side of friendly service. Located at 2009 County Rd D E, this establishment is a go-to spot for breakfast lovers and dinner enthusiasts alike.
One of the standout features of Perkins is their Sensational Sunrise Skillets. Imagine starting your day with a flavor explosion—big country pork sausage, applewood smoked bacon, and smoked ham all nestled under a blanket of American cheese and cream gravy, topped with two perfectly cooked eggs and served over crispy smashed tots. Alternatively, for a lighter yet equally enticing option, the Everything Grilled features crimini mushrooms, green peppers, tomatoes, onions, and American cheese with eggs over homestyle seasoned potatoes.
For those who crave a classic breakfast experience, the Fresh-Cracked Classics won’t disappoint. The Hearty Man’s Combo packs a punch with two eggs, smoked sausage, and a choice of pancakes or muffins that will fuel your day. If you're feeling particularly hungry, try the Tremendous Twelve, a breakfast feast that includes three eggs, four buttermilk pancakes, and a choice of savory sides.
When it comes to comfort food, Perkins shines with their Comfort Classics. Savor the Chicken Strips Dinner, featuring crispy all-white meat chicken strips served with honey mustard dipping sauce, alongside two hearty sides. The Butterball Turkey & Dressing recalls the warmth of home-cooked meals, with oven-roasted turkey served on sage dressing and accompanied by cranberry sauce. If you're in the mood for seafood, the Grilled Tilapia & Shrimp combines garlic-seasoned tilapia topped with grilled shrimp for a light yet satisfying dish.

“ Alex aka Alexandra was great. Food was spot on. ”
“ My sister and I went there for Thanksgiving 11/28/24. It was really busy, and a little short handed. But I can tell you that all of the staff handled it very well. We had the most amazing waitress who was always checking on us. To the cooks working so hard with a full restaurant and only 2 cooks did an awesome job. This Perkins should be so proud of the staff they have. ”
“ My mom, aunt & I dined here this morning. Our server was friendly, funny & attentive. Food was delicious and fast. It wasn't all that busy for 9:30 on a Sunday morning. That quickly changed w a lobby full of people by the time we left! ... ”
“ First off, the food isn’t the best. It’s Perkins so that was expected But that was at no fault to the cooks. Otherwise food was decent. Since it’s Thanksgiving, myself and two other family members ordered the butterball turkey dinner and got mashed potatoes and green beans with it. Overall good food and good quality for what you expect from Perkins. Service was very slow, but that was expected because of it being Thanksgiving so again, no fault to the employees. Regardless, the staff apologized for the slow service but it’s not their fault with it being so busy and with a cook walking out! I could tell the staff was stressed. Regardless again, the staff brought muffins to apologize for the wait at no extra cost to us. Our server Kayla was super sweet and efficient and helpful despite all the other circumstances with it being busy for Thanksgiving, short staffed in general, AND a cook walking out. She was honest about everything which is exactly what people need and not telling us “Oh it will be out soon”, NO- she told us what was happening so we knew what to expect so I THANK HER FOR THAT! Cheranet was also very welcoming and helpful! She wasn’t our server but she was for those around us and she did an amazing job as well, being efficient and honest with the customers. Thank you to the cooks that were working today on Thanksgiving to give my small little family and I a decent meal so we had some bit of joy this Holiday! Despite the cook walking out, thank you to the other cooks who stayed with it. You might have had other angry customers and other issues but just know you made my day along with my family’s. ”
“ We go here for birthday breakfasts and our experiences are memorable. There are as many as 12. They have recent value meals which to seniors are enough food. The staff is friendly and the quality of food is perfect for celebrating birthdays. ”
“ Chris, the manager really has turned this place into a warm and comfortable place to go eat. Our server tonight was Sophie and like all the others we have had to joy of experiencing here was so friendly and attentive. We have never had a bad experience here and I highly recommend them. It was an exciting bonus to see the plastic dividers removed from between the booths. ”
“ I felt my fish & shrimp meal was better than Red Lobster's! My husband thought his pancakes were better than IHOP's! And, we both agreed our service was the best ever!! Food was hot, tasty, and quickly served with accuracy & hospitality! Thank you to our server: Samantha and manager: Cheranet, for making our lunch experience a great one! ”
“ The meal was delicious, eggs benedict, hash browns, and a mammoth muffin. My surprise was, they have a fresh strawberry custard pie that is almost as good as baker's square , fresh strawberry cream cheese pie that is available only seasonally, only if you can find a baker square conveinately around anymore. ”
